OKC is a very nice place to live. There is a lot of stuff to do, for both adults and kids, and there are really good restaurants. You can get from here to either coast fairly quickly by air, and the road network is really nice. I think I’ve been to all of the counties in Oklahoma except maybe a couple in the far western part of the state.
I really have no intention of ever moving from OKC. We have talked about living in other parts of the country for a month or a season once the kids are in college (the mountains, the Northeast, the Northwest), but always plan on returning back to OKC.
I wish public transport was more of a reality here, but I don’t mind driving. The Rush Minute is when the traffic slows down from 70 to 50 on the interstates around 5:05PM. The political mood in OKC, and Oklahoma in general, is a little too “Red” for this Independent, but I hope that this will change over the next couple years, especially in acceptance of people that have different views religious, sexual, or green.
