Great stuff! Ian, Erin, and I were headed to St. Crispin’s to get some work done in preparation for Ian’s Eagle project, and we stopped here for lunch.
We started off with bacon and cheese fries; excellent! Not a one left. Erin got a cheeseburger; it was very good, cooked pretty much perfectly. Ian got a half rack of spare ribs. Those were really, really, good. I graded them a 9 on a scale of 1 to JTs. They had a red-black crust, and plenty of meat. They were a bit greasy, and almost too tender; they fell off the bones in a greasy pile on the plate. But they had huge flavor. I got a two-meat special with pulled pork and sliced brisket. Both were outstanding. Both had great smoke flavor, and were not greasy at all, tender.
The sides were also great. Ian got fries and fries. These were thin cut and the perfect slight crispiness. The green beans were loaded with bacon and onion, delicious. The mac and cheese was OK. The BBQ sauce: the hot was way HOT. The mild was thin and very mild. I tried mixing the two, but didn’t really like the result. It was OK, the mild was fine by itself. The only thing I could count down on this meal: the cornbread side was a bit dry.
The iced tea was excellent, and service was right on the money. Our check was $56.22.
This was an outstanding BBQ meal. I think it is worth the drive from OKC.
