We had softball practice at 63rd and Penn yesterday, and Raegan had expressed desire for pizza, and Upper Crust fit the criteria, so we decided to give it a try. Pretty good!
We started off with a caesar salad, which was very good, tossed in a particularly sharp dressing. We also had some excellent garlic bread, with a spicy marinara that was a perfect complement.
We split a pair of pizzas. The kids had a pizza that was half capicola and half sausage. They ate most of it and said they liked it. Raegan and I split one; her half was capicola, mushrooms, and green olives; mine was spicy sausage and pepperoni. We really liked that pizza, it was excellent. The thin crust was perfect, and the spicy sausage was just spicy enough.
The iced tea was variable – some glasses of it had a distinct coffee aftertaste, and some didn’t and were very good. Service was really good at first, and dropped off a bit as the place filled up, but was never bad. Our check was $52.30. I wouldn’t mind at all going back.
