I usually don’t re-blog about restaurants, but we had not visited Milagros in a while, and I got something new on this visit. We visited last Thursday, as we had two events to attend, and Milagros was pretty much right in between them.
I had some wonderful pork chili verde soup in California more than a year ago, and after a bit of reading, discovered that it was basically a thin version of mexican guisado.
Raegan pointed out the guiso de puerco on the menu, so that’s what I got. Raegan and the kids got varieties of enchiladas that were all very good. The guiso was excellent! It is the chili verde variety. The pork was in small pieces and was tender and had great flavor. The stuff was more spicy than I had expected, but not so much that it detracted from the flavor. It was served on top of the rice; next time I will ask for the rice to be on the side.
Service was a bit slow, but we got done to make our two events on time (early, even!). The iced tea was great. Our check was $53.59, not bad at all for four. Recommended.
